Resolved Question: I can lift my toenail, what to do?

Well, about 2 weeks ago, this wooden, very heavy chair fell on my big toe, and it hurt like hell and it was swollen and after a week I decided to mess with it and I poked the skin under the nail with a sharp object and all this yellow liquid just came out and it kind of smelled bad. Then, I just pushed my nail down to get all the liquid out and I removed the excess skin. Then, today, just now, I messed with it again and I can lift almost the whole nail, besides the right side, I guess the right side is still kind of attached, but besides that part, I can lift the whole nail and I can see the skin underneath it (the nail bed). And ever since I poked it, liquid came out all the time and I just kept cleaning it and it's yellow all the time and it kinda stinks.Also, it doesn't really hurt that much, but when I push down the nail, the left side hurts a little bit, other than that, it doesn't hurt.I just read something that said I should put a band-aid around it, so I did, and the left part hurts a little bit. And now, I don't know what to do, should I go see a doctor, do I have to get my nail removed? I hope not! Any doctors or anyone who has had the same problem? I don't know how to make the nail bed and the nail to stick together, will the band-aid help? Isn't the nail bed and supposed to be attached through the skin? But I can see my nail bed and it's white and soaky now, like how your skin gets after a long bath/shower. HELPP!! I'm worried! I'm currently studying abroad in China, so I don't want to go through another surgery again (last time was appendicitis). =( Thanx guys!and I don't think it's discolored, it's painted so....

I've suffered with ingrowing nails of my toenails all of my life. For years I have always had one all the time withno space inbetween without having one.But for the last 8 months or so, they've been around every fewmonths instead (so alot less frequent.My toenails are often red, look and feel very sore often.My toenails do grow oddly, they grow and curl around slightly,so that they would dig in to my toe, it's the way they grow.I have had bad ingrowing toenails many times where they've beenpainful, swollen, red and have had yellow puss coming out of thesides alot.I have no idea how i can encourage them to be less frequent other than;continue to soak them in warm salty water which I also put lavander and teatree essential oils in the water (I use them at college with reflexology clients).Many thanks inadvance for advice.xxx

So about 3 months ago my big toenail fell off as a result of dropping a heavy object on it. Now about 2/3 of it is yellowy and really gross. How can I fix this and make it look healthy again??

my toenail is like spilt into 2 layers overlapping each other. they are yellow and i see some like black underneath. it is lifted from my skin, it doesnt hurt and its not red or puffy, just very ugly please help!
Ok so I played soccer since I was in 7th grade, I'm now 21. But my junior year in high school my left big toenail got a horizontal crack in it, i assumed it was from soccer. Then my right one did, still assuming the same. Then it started to grow out and a new one would return. Now it can be two cracks on each one sometimes. But it's been five years now with them not bothering me so I never bothered to go to the doctors, and now my right one is kinda yellow and I know I need to go but does anyone know what it is.......?
Had it for 3 years - I used an anti-fungal toenail lacquer for 9 months, but it's still there. I am pregnant and not meant to use lacquer any more so is there an alternative treatment. The whole nail is yellow and now peeling away.
