My right foot's toenail hurts REALLY badly after I take a long walk. I have ingrown nails, but that is not the problem. My toenail only hurts when I take a long walk, and it only hurts when I press on it or when it touches the top of my shoes. (Basically pressure) It hurts on the nail, not the corners (like ingrown nails), like the center/top. It stops hurting after I rest for a while. My toenail doesn't seem to have an infection, the nail is in a quite healthy color, it's a bit thick though. Normally when I press on it it doesn't hurt, but after I take a walk it hurts when I press on it. It all started when I hiked for the first time, sadly I was wearing converse (I was at a school camp and I didn't know we were going to hike.),I was thinking maybe it's because when I went downhill my toenail probably bumped into my shoe. Does any one know what the problem is? Is it a disease? I want to get it treated, because this has never happened to me before, neither my mom or dad knows what problem I have. I've searched around but most were about ingrown nails or fungus. I do not have fungus. The only thing I know is that my nails are not that healthy (I have a weak body), but not to the point where it's falling off or cracking or something. I know I have ingrown nails (I just found out today, I just cut my nails on Tuesday...) My toenail seems perfectly fine, but why does it hurt when I walk/exercise a bit longer? The hurt is like a big sting, it disappears after a few seconds. The longer I walked the more it hurt. Anyone please help? :( I'll remember to wear running shoes next time I go for a long trip!)
ok so i have been painting my nails obsessively for a while, and i recently discovered that both my fingernails and toenails were turning yellow. i should probably stop painting them for a while but a) i really don't like the way my nails look unpainted and b) now that they're yellow they look really bad unless they are painted. HELP??!!
A while ago I cut my nail too short, and then was on pointe shoes ALOT, so it became an ingrown toenail, but now it not really ingrown anymore or painful, but theres like a ridge almost, there is about 2 cm of like new nail growing, and then there is a part where it goes up and continues, but that part is really thick, like the end of my toenail is really thick, and its yellow. It has been this way forever, I thought it would grow out but it hasn't, so I have just been covering it with nail polish. Any advice on what I can do?I am going to see a doctor soon, but i wanted to try to get rid of it at home first

Ok, so a couple weeks ago my toe started to be discolored; like yellow-y and kind of looking like a bruise. It doesn't hurt when I touch it, or even at all! Then recently a little part of the side that the bruise-spot was on it started to become lighter and I was thinking that it had become "unattached" to the skin. So just a couple minutes ago I cut my toenail and now it doesn't look normal. I think this started when I accidentally cut my nail a little too much and the side of my toe started to bleed. I do this a lot and now it's nothing, but this time it's different. Here's a picture of my toe after I cut the nail: http://s663.photobucket.com/albums/uu352/OrlyPuppy225/?action=view¤t=Photoon2010-06-28at0843.jpgPlease no stupid answers just to get points. It's annoying. Thanks!
I'm thinking about not taking the medication no matter what anyone says. I haven't paid for it yet so no big deal. I've been looking all over the internet and found a few options. I just wondered if any of you guys knew what the best way is to get rid of nail fungus without taking medication.

It hurt to walk on it till thursday now it only feels tender when i poke and prod i feels like a giant bruise on my toe. the nail is lifted and its red on the side of my toe. I really dont know.. it itches a little its definitely improved pain wise.. so do i just leave it or go to the doctors?
Fungal nail infections can be treated successfully, but some types are more easily treated than others. One type, distal subungual onychomycosis, can be a lifelong infection and hard to treat. Another...
